Riverwalk Spring Get Downtown returns April 27, 2015

For its 17th year, Riverwalk looks forward to hosting the Spring Get Downtown at Yolo Plaza on Monday, April 27, 2015. The outdoor event will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. As Fort Lauderdale’s largest outdoor cocktail hour, the event will feature flavorful bites from several local restaurants and bars. Admission is free for Riverwalk members and others may attend for a $20 donation. Attendees will receive two drink tickets, enjoy live entertainment, and taste delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres served by some of Fort Lauderdale’s most notable restaurants.

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale aims to be a force for connection. In this endeavor, we have several initiatives that draw residents and visitors alike to Riverwalk Park and the Downtown. We rely heavily on the support of our members in hosting many events and overseeing various initiatives. Free admission to our Get Downtown events is just one of the many benefits of becoming a member and supporting our mission. Get Downtown provides attendees with an invaluable opportunity to mingle, network, and enjoy the best of Fort Lauderdale.

Riverwalk Hosts Lauderdale Live 2015

Lauderdale Live 2015 will take place on the weekend of June 19, ending of June 21st, at Fort Lauderdale’s beautiful waterfront Huizenga Plaza on the riverwalk. The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitor’s Bureau’s office of Film, Music and Entertainment, AEG Live, and Donahue Entertainment are excited to announce its return and share the much anticipated line-up.

  • Friday, June 19 – VIP pre-festival, an intimate event including special live performances. More details to come.
  • Saturday, June 20 – Headliner Phillip Phillips and supporting acts Ben Rector, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, Kris Allen and Emily Kopp.
  • Sunday, June 21 – Headliner O.A.R. and supporting acts Sister Hazel, Dumpstaphunk, Luke Wade and Beverly McClellan

The Salvation Army holds 9th Annual MOST Amazing Race in Downtown Fort Lauderdale

You’re probably familiar with the famed TV show, The Amazing Race, of which The Salvation Army’s MOST Amazing Race event derives its name. Deep down you probably have your own thirst for adventure or said to yourself, “Oh, I can do that!” at the sight of the numerous challenges the racers on the show underwent. While The Salvation Army won’t whisk you away to faraway lands for fame and glory, you and a partner still have a shot to become local legends and win a grand prize of $2,000! Team Up TODAY!

On Saturday, March 21, 2015, teams of two will test their physical and mental strengths as they race around downtown Fort Lauderdale in the ultimate scavenger-hunt/adventure race. Teams must master clues that lead to a number of checkpoints where they will have to overcome a variety of challenges. The race can be summed up in two words – MOST AMAZING! It’s in the title, so you can bet on having a fun & exhilarating experience.

If you are over the age of 18, can withstand some physical exertion, and can best the occasional puzzle, SIGN UP TODAY! Take advantage of FREE registration until midnight on January 31, 2015. After that, teams can enter the event for only $50 ($25 per individual).

The MOST Amazing Race benefits The Salvation Army’s programs, such as the new Open Door Shelter. Each team’s first challenge is to raise $200 through their personalized event website in order to compete the day of the race. Top fundraising teams will earn race incentives and prizes.

Riverwalk’s 4th Annual Stone Crab & Seafood Festival Returns January 17th

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale proudly announces the return of Stone Crab & Seafood Festival for the 4th year. Presented by Grille 401, the event will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 11am – 5pm at Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The free festival celebrates the local South Florida Seafood Industry and highlights some of Fort Lauderdale’s favorite seafood restaurants, which will be serving up fresh stone crab claws and a variety of seafood dishes starting at $5.00. Seafood lovers of all ages are welcome to come out rain or shine and enjoy a day of great food, drinks, music, games (including the crowd-favorite hermit crab races), prizes and more!

Riverwalk’s Mutts & Martinis Returns November 7, 2014

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale will host the 9th annual Mutts and Martinis™ event, presented by Larry and Cathy Danielle on Friday, November 7, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Mutts and Martinis™ is Fort Lauderdale’s largest outdoor, pet-friendly cocktail hour and aims to bring together the Downtown community and their favorite four-legged friends for a night of celebration and networking. Rain or shine, the event will be held along the Riverwalk at The Downtowner.

Light Up Lauderdale is a ten-week display of glittering holiday lights and garlands presented by Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale and the City of Fort Lauderdale. Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale’s Get Lit will kick off the holiday season and the ten-week display at Esplanade Park on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.

In its sixth year, the celebration showcases the two and half mile brick Riverwalk pathway on both sides of the New River in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. This family-friendly event will feature a holiday orchestra, sponsored by Winterfest. Additionally, attendees will enjoy tours along the twinkling lights of the Riverwalk, face painting, a craft area, concessions with food and drinks for sale, and more.
