Ross Lynch Faces Off With His New Madame Tussauds Orlando Figure

0image00

Music, film and television star Ross Lynch will come face to face with his new wax figure for Madame Tussauds Orlando on Thursday, May 21 at the attraction’s new location at I-Drive 360, the entertainment and dining destination on International Drive.

Lynch met with Madame Tussauds artists where more than 300 precise measurements of his head and body were taken to create a perfect replica of the rising star. At the sitting, Lynch and his father were discussing several ideas for his figure’s pose, when he naturally fell into a casual stance that was reflective of his personality. Lynch also provided artists with the clothing and accessories for his figure, including a leather jacket, R5 guitar pick necklace, socks and his signature pink underwear, which he said his fans would expect to see.

“This whole experience with the Madame Tussauds team was so cool,” said Lynch. “I’m excited to see how the figure will look, especially since he’s rocking my pink boxers!”

Lynch made his acting debut on the hit Disney Channel show, Austin & Ally, as lead character Austin Moon. He then played the lead male role in the hit Disney Channel original film, Teen Beach Movie, as Brady, which was filmed on location in Puerto Rico.  Lynch reprises his role in Teen Beach 2, which debuts this summer.

A talented self-taught musician, not only does Lynch sing and dance, he also plays piano, drums, bass and guitar, which ultimately led to the creation of his pop rock band, R5, whose five founding members include three of his siblings. He has released several singles, and sang on all the songs for the Austin & Ally soundtrack. R5’s second studio album, Sometime Last Night, will be released on July 10, 2015.

Madame Tussauds is world-renowned for the creation of detailed and lifelike wax figures that pay homage to A-list celebrities from film and television, sports icons, musicians from all genres, and notable figures from history and pop culture.

Each Madame Tussauds figure is truly a work of art, involving teams of professional artists and sculptors who spend months on extensive research and taking more than 300 measurements to recreate world-famous icons, to achieve the kind of astonishing realism that has been at the heart of the 250-year Madame Tussauds legacy.

Guests at Madame Tussauds Orlando will experience the essence of America with this brand new, immersive and interactive wax experience, bursting with family fun and world-class entertainment, as they move through themed areas meeting all of their favorite stars from award-winning film actors, to historical and modern world leaders, sports stars, music legends as well as figures important to Florida. All visitors can shake hands with the president, get on stage with rock stars and pop princesses, or get up close and personal with a Hollywood heartthrob and take the ultimate selfie!

As The Orlando Eye spins toward its May 4 grand opening, Nik Wallenda is setting his sights on his first stunt on an observation wheel. On April 29, Wallenda will attempt to walk on top of the 400-foot observation wheel, without a tether or wire, while it is moving.

The Orlando Eye, located at the brand new I-Drive 360 entertainment complex, is the largest observation wheel on the North American East Coast, offering stunning 360-degree views of Central Florida within the comfort of 30 air-conditioned passenger capsules that can accommodate up to 450 people.

From the top of the observation wheel, Wallenda will see the same breathtaking views as passengers on the Eye, which include nearby theme parks and attractions, the downtown Orlando skyline, lakes and lush landscape, and, if the day is especially clear, Cape Canaveral on Florida’s East Coast.

“When I heard about The Eye, I just had this vision of how cool it could be to tackle it, and on top of that, it’s just really an amazing structure to behold,” said Wallenda during an earlier press conference announcing his April 29 stunt. “There are so many [actual] moving parts to this walk that I think people are going to enjoy watching it as much as I’m going to enjoy taking part in it.”

“Looking down over I-Drive 360 from The Orlando Eye will provide a great perspective of the many venues guests can experience when they visit this incredible entertainment complex,” added Wallenda.

Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show,” joined Madame Tussauds at their New York attraction for a special launch of five brand new, never-before-seen wax figures of the popular funnyman.  The event took place at Madame Tussauds New York in Times Square and will mark Fallon’s one-year anniversary behind “The Tonight Show” desk.

For the first time in history, Madame Tussauds unveiled not one, but five, unique wax figures of a single celebrity.  Fallon’s figures will be housed in Madame Tussauds locations spanning the country: New York City, Washington DC, Hollywood and San Francisco. His fifth figure will be featured in the newest Madame Tussauds in Orlando when it opens May 4, 2015.

“I’m honestly floored! These artists did an amazing job,” said Jimmy Fallon upon seeing his figures for the first time. “I guess I’ll have to stop with the plastic surgery for at least a few years so these figures stay relevant.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Jimmy Fallon to five of our U.S. Madame Tussauds attractions, including our newest Orlando attraction opening in May this year,” said Janine DiGioacchino, Divisional Director, Midway North America, Merlin Entertainments Group. “Jimmy is beloved by fans across the world and we look forward to offering so many of our visitors the opportunity to engage with such an entertainment icon.”

Dressed in his signature suit, each figure was meticulously created by Madame Tussauds studio artists over the course of four months. Fallon worked closely with the artists who spent hours sitting with the star taking over 250 measurements, no details were overlooked including identifying exact eye color, and detailing each strand of hair.

Each Madame Tussauds figure is truly a work of art, involving teams of professional artists and sculptors who spend months on extensive research and taking more than 200 measurements to recreate world-famous icons, to achieve the kind of astonishing realism that has been at the heart of the 250-year Madame Tussauds legacy.

Guests at Madame Tussauds Orlando will experience a brand new, immersive and interactive wax experience, bursting with family fun and world-class entertainment, as they move through themed areas meeting all of their favorite stars from award-winning film actors, to historical and modern world leaders, sports stars, music legends as well as figures important to Florida. All visitors can shake hands with the president, get on stage with rock stars and pop princesses, or get up close and personal with a Hollywood heartthrob and take the ultimate selfie!

Fun Facts:

·         Jimmy Fallon donated the shirt and tie for his Orlando figure.

·         All five figures debuted on “The Tonight Show” on Thursday, March 26.

·         It took 20 studio artists 3-4 months to complete the figures and the hair alone took 6 weeks per figure.
