“Second Coming” jokes aside, when Ted Neeley visited Tampa Theatre in 2013 for a screening of Jesus Christ Superstar, the meet-and-greet line of grateful fans stretched on for more than two hours. So when the opportunity presented itself to bring Ted back with a newly restored, SING-A-LONG print of the film, the Tampa Theatre team said “Hallelujah!”
Neeley will introduce the newly restored digital print that includes all of the songs’ lyrics and sing along with the audience throughout the movie to all of the classic songs featured in the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, including “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Hosanna,” and “King Herod’s Song (Try It and See).”
After the film, Neeley will pose for photos with fans and sign autographs in the lobby.
Tickets are $13 for general admission ($10 for Tampa Theatre Members), plus applicable fees, and will go on sale at 10:00am Friday, Jan. 24 at the Franklin Street Box Office and online at.
