An array of brightly-colored international flags greeted a record-high number of guests during the 2015 “Do at the Zoo,” the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society’s annual spring fundraiser, which reached a new fundraising milestone of $121,000. Thanks to the hard work of Event Chairs Molly Austin, Maura Ziska Christu, Ashley Ramos and Maura Smith, as well as the dedication of Honorary Chairs Whitney Bylin, Thomas C. Quick and Samantha Storkerson, the funds raised from the 200+ supporters who attended the global-themed celebration will benefit the hundreds of animals in the Zoo’s care.
Guests enjoyed lavish food options from ten outstanding local restaurants, danced to music spun by DJ Vlad and visited with a wide variety of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. The Handshaken BACARDÍ® Rum Daiquiri classic cocktails were the most popular drinks of the evening. Suiting the “around the world” theme, select event lighting came from colorful solar-powered lanterns as part of the Zoo’s mission of reducing its overall carbon footprint.
Global cuisine for the event was provided by Avocado Grill, Bricktops, Buccan, Duffy’s Sports Grill, Echo, Meat Market, PB Catch, PDQ, Table 26 and the Palm Beach Zoo Tropics Cafe.
